Boston is a very walkable city if you’re staying downtown. If you have a car with you, keep in mind that driving downtown can be a challenge. The roads are wonky and there are limited parking options (mostly paid).

If you need to catch a ride, rideshare services including Lyft and Uber operate within the city and are readily available.

If you’re looking for public transportation, The Massachusetts Bay Transport Authority operates subway lines,  bus routes, commuter rail, and even ferry routes that are a cheap and easy way to get around. The subway (called “the T”), runs throughout Boston, into Cambridge, and into nearby suburbs. You can buy a ticket in most stations and check the map and schedule here

There are also bikes and scooters from services like Lime available throughout the city for a quick ride.
